This course is an abridged and enriched version of the MOOC on Social Innovation created by Ashoka Poland as one of the intellectual outputs of the Building the culture of social innovation in higher education project implemented by Collegium Civitas in partnership with the University of Iceland, the University of Northampton and Ashoka Poland, co-founded by the European Commission. Similarly to other intellectual outputs of the ‘Building the culture of social innovation in higher education’ project it is meant to support the development of social innovativeness mainly by serving as a tool useful for teaching processes in that area.

This version is addressed and recommended to educators / teachers who are already interested in fostering the culture of social innovations and who are going:

→ either to create their own teaching tool / course in Social Innovation;

→ or to supervise a learning processes based on the intellectual outputs created within the framework of the Erasmus+ program Building Culture of Social Innovation in Higher Education.

This course can contribute to a valuable change and transformation in institutions and cultures worldwide. Therefore, it’s crucial for us that the course is far-reaching and complimentary for everyone on Creative Commons bases.

While forming strategic content, we aimed to use the abundance of Ashoka’s community knowledge and experience. This is why we have invited several change leaders and experts to collaborate and contribute to the program in a form of guest lectures. We conscientiously selected and prepared video lectures, readings and activities, which stem from our extensive work in the field of social innovation, assembled and practiced in the course of the years.
